Labubu or Lafufu?

Labubu or Lafufu? Toy doll craze prompts BBB warning about counterfeits; what to watch out for.

**DURHAM, N.C.** — Have you caught the latest toy frenzy? Meet **Labubu**, the adorable monster dolls flying off shelves. But beware—knockoff versions, called **Lafufu**, are flooding the market just as fast.

Alyssa Parker from the **Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Eastern Carolinas** warns, *”These collectibles come in various colors, and part of the fun is the surprise of unboxing them. Unfortunately, scammers are exploiting this by selling fake Labubus as the real thing.”*

The BBB’s **Scam Tracker** has received numerous reports of counterfeit Labubus being sold online, in stores, and even at events. While **Lafufu** dolls may look nearly identical, there are key differences.

*”Genuine Labubus have nine teeth, a distinct face color, and an authenticity stamp on the bottom of their foot,”* Parker explains. Always check these details to avoid getting duped by imitations.
